Ministering Compassion to the Whole person

Rose Andrews, Director of Hudson Valley Regional Prayer Movement, loads a 1990 Honda Accord with groceries to overflowing. The food is collected weekly from local grocery stores and than boxed up and distributed to those needing assistance.

We are bringing relief to individuals and families that have been recommended to us.
The numbers of those receiving groceries are growing. We are busting out of the Honda. In order to meet the demand and continue growing we will need another vehicle.

At our parsonage we sort groceries for delivery to single mothers, the unemployed, elderly, large families and the less fortunate. Although we do not pay for most of our groceries, it takes a full day to pick up, pack up and deliver to those in need. If You can sponsor a box of groceries.  CLICK HERE TO CONTACT US.

Edward Johnson
Age 55 yrs
Lived in Newburgh, NY four yrs.
Came from “Camp LaGuardia Shelter” NY. NY

Worked in food service for three yrs. In addition, he lost his job due to unfortunate circumstances.

Was unemployed for 1 yr. had no car and no telephone access. No food stamps.

Could not get any assistance to pay his rent and he fell behind for several thousands of dollars.

Hudson Valley Regional Prayer Movement received a referral for Edward and filled his cupboards with groceries and household goods for a year. During this time, we observed Ed and realized, he was really putting his best foot forward. He acquired a job at Walmart and walked to and from work each day for 7 weeks until he bought a bicycle. Cycling 50 minutes, all up hill to Walmart for the night shift, is a challenge for Edward. His first bike was stolen by a group of kids. He watched it ride away down the street. He purchased a second bicycle that is much easier for him to ride each day.

Edward's goal is to pay off his remaining balance of $1290.00 in back rent. He would like to move toward getting a car before the snow falls. He longs to be out of debt, working a better job and one-day live in a quiet neighborhood with air conditioning.

Edward now volunteers weekly to sort groceries and to help others that are were he once was.
